Last Friday, we celebrated the artistry of independent creators at LA Webfest, and I’m thrilled that two projects I got to be part of, both Godkiller:Balance and The Curious Matter Anthology Season 3 – The Exile, took home awards that night. Em Carlson of Blackwater D&D accepted the award for Best Story in an Actual Play Podcast for Godkiller:Balance, and Jonathan Pezza, the creator and producer of The Exile, took home the award for Best Sci-fi/Fantasy Podcast.

While big-budget projects may attract the most attention, I must say independent creators have been responsible for some of the most thought-provoking and heart-opening work I’ve ever seen or participated in, and I’m so glad we had the opportunity this week to give them and all the other creators at LA Webfest their (May) flowers.
